The Timbertown Dollology Club of Saginaw

We are a diverse group united by our interest in dolls. We collect, study, design, fix up, sew for, accessorize, exchange, love, and “play with” dolls. The quest for that “special” doll takes us from garage sales to auction houses. We have found the pursuit of information relating to dolls to be a fascinating journey.

The Timbertown Dollology Club of Saginaw, Michigan was organized on August 20, 1970. Of the charter members, Peggy Matta Montei remains a current member of the club. Suzanne Swanton has been an active member since the club joined the United Federation Of Doll Clubs (UFDC) in 1975.

The club motto is “No Doll Is Hopeless.”
The club mascot is the Schoenhut Wooden doll.

We meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month (no July meeting) at 6:30 PM at Thomas Township Administration Hall at 8215 Shields Dr. Saginaw MI. A typical evening begins with a business meeting and is followed by a doll-related program. We break for some refreshments and some social time, and then we enjoy a “show and tell” session with our dolls.

The highlight of our year is the production of our annual Doll Show. This year’s show will be held Sunday May 6, 2012 at Carrolton Middle School in Saginaw and promises to be a great time for all doll lovers.

Our club is generous in reaching out to those in need. We have helped the Saginaw Rescue Mission, the Salvation Army, and “Toys For Tots” - to name a few. We have shared our knowledge of dolls and the joys of doll collecting by giving talks to groups in the community. Trips to doll shows and other doll related events are planned on a regular basis.

We welcome new members, as we have learned that each person brings something unique to our club. Our membership chairperson is Donna Bluemer (989) 781-0896 bluemerd@aol.com
